Fresh Start to 2012 :: Bon Appetit’s Food Lover’s Cleanse

2012 is officially here!  And with it comes Bon Appetit's 2nd annual Food Lover's Cleanse - perfect timing as most of us (myself included) are coming off of some holiday season over-indulging.  The BA editors, food writer Sara Dickerman, food photographer Kimberley Hasselbrink and myself teamed up again to pull together 14 days of drop-dead gorgeous, clean and fresh eating...with portion sizes, guidelines, grocery lists and simple recipes to go along with it.  A cleanse so doable and delicious, you might not want to get off it when the two weeks are up.  Bring on a happy, healthful year ahead!

Hi Marissa,

I really enjoy your blog - thank you for sharing your recipes and other musings.  I was doing the Whole Living Cleanse http://www.wholeliving.com/152235/week-1-recipes/@center/152870/2012-whole-living-action-plan) and I am finding it to be incredibly restrictive - right now there is no dairy, sugar, meat, grains, etc.  I know that they cut out dairy, sugar, meat etc. for inflammatory reasons, but do you have any idea why they would cut out all grains?  I would think gluten free ones would at least be ok.

I was looking over the Bon Appetit cleanse and it seems much more doable, although it also doesn’t seem like that much of a cleanse.  What were you focusing on when creating it?  Do you ever cleanse?  I’d love to hear your perspective because I think you have a very balanced view on eating!

Thank you,
Amanda

Hi Marissa,

This is my first time to visit your blog and I found your posts here really interesting. I am an avid fan of cleansing, and I also practice organic diet. Wherein I even choose to have grass fed meats. You got great ways here to be healthy!

More Power to nourish-nyc!
